Community Outreach Advocates

Advocating. Mentoring. Connecting.

Community Advocates focus outreach efforts within the homes of the youth that we serve in the Y.E.Z. with the goal of strengthening the network of supports around their families by addressing issues that prevent our youth from achieving success. The Community Outreach Advocate (COA) Model for the BRC designates three main roles to provide wrap-around services and support.

Advocating…

for the rights and needs of our youth and families while teaching and empowering them to effectively advocate for themselves.

Mentoring…

youth and parents by serving as positive role-models, building trusting relationships, and providing continual guidance to foster positive decision making and to promote self-sufficiency.

Connecting…

families to available resources by assessing their needs, identifying the appropriate resources that meet those identified needs, and addressing any barriers that prevent the families from accessing available services, resources, and programs.
