Youth Advisory Council
Launched in 2016, The Youth Advisory Council is made up of 10th-12th grade students from the Youth Enrichment Zone. These students will work with the BRC Executive Director & staff members as well as BRC community partners to develop their leadership and public speaking skills.
The goal is to help the students develop a voice that represents the youth from their community and to encourage them to become advocates for alternatives to engaging in at-risk behaviors.
The Youth Advisory Council participates in presentations that help educate BRC Board Members, Stakeholders, Community Partners and potential funders about the affects of violence. They offer solutions for sustainable changes within their own community.
Service Learning is also a significant part of the Youth Advisory Council. They identify, plan and engage in service projects that directly support & improve the Youth Enrichment Zone community.
